In the UK, you have the right to choose your own religion, or even decide not to follow one at all. While the country has a Christian history, there's now a diverse range of beliefs being practiced.
According to the 2021 census, around 46.2% (27.5 million people) described themselves as Christian, making it the most common religious affiliation.
The second most common response was "No religion," at 37.2%.
Other religions identified included "Muslim," at 6.5%, and "Hindu," at 1.7%.
It just goes to show the rich variety of beliefs and backgrounds you'll find across the UK!
